Stay Or Leave? Arsenal Loanee Reiss Nelson Provides Update On Future
Reiss Nelson has stressed that he’s still an Arsenal player despite speculation that he could be set for a permanent move to Hoffenheim.
The 18-year-old has had a barnstorming start to life in Germany, scoring four goals in his opening five Bundesliga appearances, and Arsenal fans are already demanding that the talented youngster is recalled in January.
Hoffenheim are interested in making Nelson’s deal permanent next summer, but the Gunners are determined to keep hold of the England Under-21 international. Unai Emery has been impressed with Nelson’s performances and it appears Nelson has no intentions of leaving Arsenal at the end of the season.
Nelson believes the Bundesliga is providing the ideal experience for him at this stage of his career. ‘I’m liking the Bundesliga. There’s a lot of top, top defenders that you come across,’ he added.
‘It was always going to be a challenge so when I got the offer to come out here I was excited, knowing it was going to be such a big challenge for me. ‘As a person and as a player, I wanted to take the next step.’
